our musicians
We’re a group of local classical musicians, some professional, some semi-professional and a few seasoned amateurs. We’re an interesting mix of ages and backgrounds but we all have one common language. We rehearse together weekly and perform a variety of concerts throughout the year.
We welcome out-of-town friends for each of these concerts - players from the NZSO, Orchestra Wellington and Auckland Philharmonic.
raising the next generation
Through workshops, concerts, 1-on-1, and full school interactive presentations, the HBO are committed to raising a generation of young classical musicians and classical music lovers.
Working in schools of all deciles, we believe that music has no demographic glasses and appreciate the opportunity to work with children of all backgrounds.
We currently work alongside Or-ches-trate! to present full orchestral concerts in schools, and are always looking for new outlets.
If you have students of a high level of musicianship, please contact us. Many of our members are ex-professional musicians, and can tutor exceptional individuals or groups.
